Friday 6/12/26: Water Talk with Paul the Waterman

Today’s Guests:
On the latest edition of Water Talk, Paul “The Waterman” Dowding of Water Pro’s focused on growing concerns surrounding contaminants that may be present in our drinking water and what consumers should know to better protect their families. The discussion highlighted substances such as PFAS “forever chemicals,” microplastics, pharmaceuticals, hormones, and other emerging contaminants that may still be found in water supplies despite not being fully regulated under current federal standards.

The program examined research showing how trace amounts of medications can enter source water through wastewater systems. Although these contaminants are often measured in extremely small amounts, scientists continue to study the potential effects of long-term exposure and the process of bioaccumulation, where certain chemicals may gradually build up in the body over time.

Paul emphasized that consumers should not live in fear, but rather become educated about the quality of their water and understand the limitations of traditional treatment methods. The show also explored practical solutions available to homeowners, including reverse osmosis systems, activated carbon filtration, and whole-home water treatment technologies designed to reduce a broad range of contaminants.

As always, the mission of Water Talk is education—not fear—empowering listeners to make informed decisions about the water they use every day.
