Friday 8/7/26: Water Talk with Paul the Waterman

Today’s Guests:
On this edition of Water Talk, brought to you by Water Pro’s, host Scott Whatley and Paul “The Waterman” Dowding discussed the importance of understanding what’s really in our drinking water. The conversation focused on disinfection byproducts (DBPs)—chemicals that can form when chlorine or other disinfectants react with naturally occurring organic matter in water. While disinfection is essential for protecting public health, long-term exposure to elevated levels of certain DBPs has been associated with potential health concerns. The program also addressed PFAS, often referred to as “forever chemicals,” which have become a growing concern because they do not easily break down in the environment or the human body. PFAS have been linked to a variety of potential health risks and have been detected in water supplies across the country. Paul explained that although municipal water meets regulatory standards, many homeowners choose additional treatment for greater peace of mind. Technologies such as activated carbon filtration and reverse osmosis can help reduce PFAS, disinfection byproducts, and other contaminants. As always, Water Pro’s encourages homeowners to begin with a free, no-obligation in-home water test to better understand their water quality and determine the best solution for their family’s needs. Call 303-862-5554 for your free in home water test, tell them Scott sent you.
