Major lenders like Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae handle about 90% of all mortgages, and each loan must include Loan Level Pricing Adjustments (LLPAs) fees that reflect borrower risk. Kurt breaks down how credit scores directly impact costs: a 680 vs. 720 FICO can mean thousands in added fees or higher rates. Other risk factors include property type, loan purpose, and cash-out refinances.
