Then it’s Your Health Matters brought to you by Integrated Health Systems. Dr. Perry Maynard joined us to discuss what many doctors may not fully explain about hypothyroidism. He emphasized that nearly 90% of hypothyroid cases in the U.S. are caused by Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune condition not simply an iodine deficiency. In Hashimoto’s, the immune system mistakenly attacks the thyroid gland, gradually impairing its ability to produce hormones. This can lead to classic hypothyroid symptoms such as fatigue, dry skin, hair loss, weight gain, and brain fog. However, Dr. Maynard explained that patients may also experience periods of hyperthyroid symptoms including anxiety, heart palpitations, insomnia, and weight loss — as damaged thyroid tissue releases stored hormones into the bloodstream. These swings often cause fluctuating TSH levels and frequent medication adjustments, leaving patients frustrated. Dr. Maynard also stressed the importance of comprehensive testing, including thyroid antibodies, not just TSH alone. He also discussed a functional medicine approach that looks at immune triggers, gut health, inflammation, stress, and nutrient status to address root causes rather than simply managing symptoms. Understanding the autoimmune component is key to developing a more effective, long-term strategy for thyroid health. Call 303-781-5617 to schedule your appointment. Thursday 2/19/26: Legal Talk with Attorney Kevin Flesch & Your Legacy Your Way with Carolyn Duncan of Duncan Legal

Today’s Guests:
On this episode of Legal Talk, host Scott Whatley sat down with Kevin Flesch of Flesch Law to discuss what people should know and do after an accident. The conversation made it clear that what happens in the first hours and days after an injury can significantly impact a claim.
Kevin emphasized that insurance companies are businesses focused on minimizing payouts, not ensuring fairness. One of the biggest mistakes people make is giving recorded statements too quickly or assuming the insurer will “take care of everything.” He explained that insurers evaluate risk especially whether an attorney is willing to file a lawsuit and go to court if necessary. The interview also covered what makes a case strong, how contingency fees work, and when it’s critical to hire legal representation. Kevin advised listeners to prioritize medical care, document everything, and seek experienced legal guidance early. The key takeaway: protect your health first, don’t navigate the insurance process alone, and understand that having an attorney who is prepared to litigate can make a meaningful difference in the outcome of your case. Attorney Kevin Flesch of Flesch Law has over 30 years of experience in Denver and throughout the State of Colorado. Kevin Flesch and their attorneys represent personal injury victims and people accused of criminal acts throughout the Denver area. It’s always a free consultation at Flesch Law. Thursday 2/12/26: Legal Talk with Attorney Kevin Flesch & Your Legacy Your Way with Carolyn Duncan of Duncan Legal

Today’s Guests:
On this episode of Legal Talk, host Scott Whatley sat down with Kevin Flesch of Flesch Law and Kevin explains why evidence in a courtroom is very different from what people rely on in everyday life. In real life, stories, texts, photos, and videos are often accepted at face value. In court, however, all evidence must meet strict legal rules designed to ensure fairness, accuracy, and reliability. Kevin breaks down the concept of hearsay statements made outside of court that are generally excluded because the person who made them cannot be questioned under oath. He also explains that while there are important hearsay exceptions, each one has specific requirements that must be met before the evidence can be admitted. The discussion also covers what it means to “lay foundation” for evidence such as photos, videos, text messages, and physical items. Someone must testify that the evidence is authentic, accurate, and unaltered, and that it was properly handled. Even evidence that seems obvious or convincing can be excluded if these steps aren’t followed. Kevin emphasizes that these rules are a major reason self-represented defendants struggle in court. Knowing the facts isn’t enough understanding how evidence works can make or break a case. Call Kevin today at 303-806-8886 or visit the website at www.fleschlawfirm.com. Got a legal question? You can now TEXT the Flesch Law Line 24/7 with your legal question: 720-201-8585.

On this episode of Your Legacy Your Way, Attorney Carolyn Duncan of Duncan Legal shares that while Estate Planning is her business, she likes to say “I’m really in the “Peace of Mind” business. When you have everything planned out properly it is a huge peace of mind for not only you, but also for your family. Today we focus on Conservatorship a term often used in Estate Planning. A Conservatorship is a court-ordered arrangement where a designated person or entity is appointed to manage the financial affairs and assets of an individual who is deemed incapacitated or unable to manage their own affairs due to illness, injury or age. It acts as a safety net when no prior financial planning, like a power of attorney, is in place. For a free half-hour consult, call 303-394-2358. Carolyn says her motto is “Helping People Solves Life’s Puzzles.” Visit www.DuncanLegal.com and get your free Guide Estate Planning Basics”. Be sure and get your free Guide Estate Planning Basics.
