💡 Medicare does NOT cover Long-Term Care, including:
✔️ Nursing homes
✔️ Assisted living
✔️ Memory care
✔️ In-home care

📊 The reality:
Only ~7% of people over 65 have coverage… yet over 70% will need care. That gap can be costly.

💰 In Colorado, nursing home care already averages $128K/year—and rising fast.

📞 Real callers joined the show:
➡️ Can IRA/401(k) funds be used for LTC? Yes—there may be smart strategies
➡️ Is it too late to qualify at 64 with health issues? Not always—but waiting reduces options
➡️ Families often face confusion during claims—planning ahead makes all the difference

🔑 Key takeaway: LTC planning isn’t just for retirees—it’s for anyone 40+ who wants to protect their future and their family.

🤝 Why Silver Sherpa?
✔️ Independent guidance (no cost to you)
✔️ Personalized plans for YOUR situation
✔️ Help beyond Medicare—including LTC planning

Friday 4/3/26: Water Talk with Paul the Waterman

Today’s Guests:
On this episode of Water Talk, Paul “The Waterman” Dowding, Owner of Water Pros explains that Colorado is the “headwaters” state for much of the western and central United States. That means that most of its rivers begin in the Rocky Mountains and flow across state lines. Four of the nation’s major rivers originate in Colorado: the Arkansas, Colorado, Platte, and the Rio Grande. Only the Green River, the Little Snake River, and Costilla Creek flow into the state, and then only for short stretches.

Rivers are the predominant water source for Coloradans. This water is highly prized because it starts as pristine high-quality snowmelt, not yet used and reused by others. Colorado has nine major river basins, which include the Arkansas, Colorado, Gunnison, North Platte, Republican, Rio Grande, South Platte, Dolores/San Juan/San Miguel, and the Yampa/White/Green. Each basin relies on a mixture of rain, snow and groundwater to fill its rivers and creeks. Likewise, each basin hosts a distinct range of water uses that help shape Colorado’s overall identity. Paul explains if drought and climate change continue to sap the river’s flows, and a legal crisis erupts with downstream states, six of the state’s eight major river basins could be forced to give up water. The Front Range and Eastern Plains are most vulnerable if shortages hit the river downstream and could lose as much as 97 percent of their Colorado River supplies.

Also, Well Water customers already have experienced running low on water, effecting their water quality. Call Water Pro’s today for your free in home water test, call 303-862-5554.

Today’s Guests:
On this episode of Legal Talk, host Scott Whatley sat down with Kevin Flesch of Flesch Law to discuss wrongful death claims in Colorado an important but difficult topic for many families. Kevin explains that a wrongful death occurs when someone loses their life due to another party’s negligence, recklessness, or intentional actions. Common cases include car and trucking accidents, medical malpractice, workplace incidents, and defective products. While criminal charges may arise, wrongful death claims are civil cases that allow families to seek justice independently. Kevin outlines who can file a claim in Colorado, noting the importance of timing and the legal hierarchy of eligible family members. The conversation also covers the types of damages available, including economic losses like income and benefits, as well as non-economic damages such as grief and loss of companionship—though these may be subject to legal caps. He also explains the difference between wrongful death claims and survival actions. Kevin also emphasizes the importance of acting quickly, preserving evidence, and avoiding early insurance settlements. With a typical statute of limitations of two years, having experienced legal guidance is critical to protecting a family’s rights and pursuing fair compensation.

Friday 3/27/26: Water Talk with Paul the Waterman

Today’s Guests:
On this episode of Water Talk, Paul “The Waterman” Dowding, Owner of Water Pros focuses on the growing concern surrounding microplastics and their impact on everyday health. Scott Whatley is joined by Paul “The Waterman” Dowding, who explains that while microplastics are gaining attention now, they have been present in the environment for years. Microplastics are tiny plastic particles—less than 5 millimeters—formed either intentionally for products like cosmetics or through the breakdown of larger plastics over time. Because plastic never fully disappears, it continues to fragment into smaller, harder-to-detect particles.

Paul highlights that exposure is widespread, occurring through drinking water, food, and even the air we breathe. Water is a major source of daily exposure, making it especially important to address. He also emphasizes that infants and young children may be more vulnerable due to developing systems and early exposure through bottles, formula, and even prenatal pathways.

While research on long-term health effects is ongoing, concerns include the accumulation of microplastics in the body and their ability to carry harmful toxins. Paul encourages practical steps such as reducing plastic use and avoiding heating food in plastic, but stresses that treating household water is one of the most effective actions. He recommends filtration systems like reverse osmosis and offers free in-home water testing to help families take control of their water quality.
