Friday 5/22/26: Water Talk with Paul the Waterman

Today’s Guests:
On this episode of Water Talk, Paul “The Waterman” Dowding, Owner of Water Pros focused on growing concerns surrounding unregulated contaminants found in drinking water and what consumers should know to better protect their families. The discussion highlighted how many potentially harmful substances—including PFAS “forever chemicals,” microplastics, pharmaceuticals, hormones, and other emerging contaminants—may still be present in water supplies even though they are not fully regulated under current federal standards.

The program explored recent EPA research into pharmaceuticals in drinking water and how trace amounts of medications can make their way through wastewater systems and into source water supplies. While these contaminants may exist in extremely small concentrations, scientists continue to study the long-term effects of chronic exposure over decades. The conversation also addressed bioaccumulation, the process where chemicals can gradually build up in the body over time.

Paul emphasized that consumers should not panic, but they should become informed about what is in their water and understand the limitations of traditional municipal treatment systems. The show also explained practical solutions homeowners can consider, including advanced filtration technologies such as reverse osmosis systems, activated carbon filtration, and whole-home water treatment options.

As always, the goal of Water Talk is education—not fear—helping listeners make informed decisions about cleaner, healthier water for their homes and families. Call Water Pro’s today for your free (no obligation) water test 303-862-5554.

Thursday 5/21/26: Legal Talk with Attorney Kevin Flesch & Your Legacy Your Way with Carolyn Duncan of Duncan Legal

Today’s Guests:
On this 5/21/26 episode of the Legal Talk Radio Show on KLZ560AM, host Scott Whatley sat down with Attorney Kevin Flesch of Flesch Law Denver Injury Accident Lawyers, to break down one of the most misunderstood parts of a DUI case — what actually happens after an arrest and the critical timelines that can dramatically impact your future. Many people believe the process simply starts with a court date, but in Colorado, important deadlines begin immediately, including the often-overlooked 7-day window to request a DMV Express Consent Hearing. Missing that deadline can lead to an automatic driver’s license suspension, regardless of what happens in criminal court.

Kevin explains the difference between blood and breath tests, what happens if someone refuses testing, and why DUI cases often involve two separate battles — one with the DMV and another in criminal court. Listeners will also learn what to expect during arraignments, pre-trial conferences, motions hearings, and possible trial timelines, which can stretch several months or longer.

The discussion also highlights how an experienced DUI defense attorney evaluates the details of an arrest, including whether the traffic stop was lawful, if field sobriety tests were administered correctly, and whether breath or blood testing procedures were properly followed. Kevin emphasizes why taking immediate action after a DUI arrest is so important, especially since evidence can disappear quickly and witness memories fade.

This informative episode gives listeners a practical roadmap of the DUI process and explains why early legal guidance can make a significant difference in protecting both driving privileges and legal rights.

Friday 5/15/26: Water Talk with Paul the Waterman

Today’s Guests:
On this episode of Water Talk, Paul “The Waterman” Dowding, Owner of Water Pros focused on a growing concern in America’s drinking water: pharmaceuticals that may be present in source water, groundwater, surface water, and even treated drinking water. The discussion centered around new information from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which, in coordination with federal partners including the USDA, FDA, and USGS, released updated Human Health Benchmarks for Pharmaceuticals in April 2026.

These benchmarks do not necessarily mean every community has these drugs in its water, but they do show that the EPA is paying attention to the issue. The agency evaluated 374 FDA-approved pharmaceutical ingredients that may occur in water and developed benchmark levels for both the general population and infants. Those separate infant benchmarks are especially important because babies and young children may be more vulnerable to even very low levels of exposure.

Paul explained that pharmaceuticals can enter the water supply in several ways. Medications may pass through the body and into wastewater, be improperly flushed or discarded, or enter the environment through medical, agricultural, or household use. Traditional municipal water treatment is designed to make water legally safe from bacteria and many regulated contaminants, but it may not remove every trace pharmaceutical, hormone, chemical, or emerging contaminant.

The key takeaway from the interview was not fear, but awareness. Many of these substances may be found only at very low levels, and the EPA’s benchmarks are meant to help water systems, scientists, and public health officials evaluate potential risk. However, Paul emphasized that “legal” water and “optimal” water are not always the same thing. Families who want greater confidence in what they are drinking should understand what is in their local water and consider additional in-home filtration when appropriate.

As always on Water Talk, Paul’s message was education first. The more consumers understand about pharmaceuticals, PFAS, microplastics, and other emerging contaminants, the better decisions they can make for their home, their health, and their water. Thursday 5/14/26: Legal Talk with Attorney Kevin Flesch & Your Legacy Your Way with Carolyn Duncan of Duncan Legal

Today’s Guests:
On this 5/14/26 episode of the Legal Talk Radio Show on KLZ560AM, host Scott Whatley sat down with Attorney Kevin Flesch of Flesch Law Denver Injury Accident Lawyers, to discuss “5 Things Most People Don’t Know After Being Arrested for DUI.” The interview focused on the critical mistakes and misunderstandings that can seriously impact a person’s case in the hours and days following a DUI arrest.

Kevin explained that many people don’t realize a DUI actually involves two separate matters — the criminal case and the DMV/Express Consent case — both carrying important deadlines and consequences. He also discussed how statements made to law enforcement, social media activity, and delays in hiring an attorney can all negatively affect a defense strategy.

Listeners learned the difference between roadside sobriety tests and chemical testing, along with the serious consequences that can come from refusing tests in Colorado. Kevin also emphasized that DUI cases are often more complicated than they appear, with factors such as medical conditions, fatigue, medications, and improper testing procedures sometimes playing a major role.

The conversation also covered what happens after an arrest, common defense strategies, and why choosing an experienced DUI attorney matters. The interview provided practical guidance for anyone facing a DUI charge or wanting to better understand the legal process.

On this episode of Your Legacy Your Way, Attorney Carolyn Duncan of Duncan Legal discusses why keeping your Last Will and Testament updated is more important than ever — and how poorly prepared or outdated documents can lead to devastating family disputes through what is known as a “will contest” or caveat. Carolyn explained that a will can be challenged if it does not meet legal standards, if someone claims undue influence, lack of mental capacity, fraud, or improper execution.

The conversation highlighted who has legal standing to contest a will, including current beneficiaries, disinherited heirs from previous wills, and individuals who may inherit under intestacy laws. Carolyn emphasized how contested estates can quickly drain financial assets while creating emotional turmoil among surviving family members.

Listeners also learned practical ways to reduce the risk of future challenges, including avoiding do-it-yourself estate planning, communicating wishes clearly with family members, keeping documents updated as life changes occur, and considering trusts for additional privacy and protection. Carolyn stressed the importance of working with an experienced estate planning attorney to ensure documents comply with state law and truly reflect your wishes.
